A charge that didn’t hit in 2026 may just have been declined (maxed card) — not cancelled. So “no charge” means Check, not dead. Set each one as you confirm it.

Manage lists

Lists are shared across every year. Renaming a category updates it everywhere it’s used.

CSV import / export

Smart import (Monarch / bank export)

Auto-detects columns, applies your saved rules (merchant→category + account names), and skips duplicates. Best for bringing in new/updated Monarch data.

Manual import — map columns yourself (one month / type at a time):

Google Sheet connector

Paste the Web App URL from your Apps Script deploy (see SETUP.md). Leave blank to stay local-only.

Sync pushes every year’s entries to the Sheet and pulls anything newer. Your data is always kept locally too.

⚡ Auto-Reconcile

This matches a CSV — your bank’s transaction export (a spreadsheet of the numbers). It is not the PDF you attached above: a PDF is a picture, so the numbers can’t be read back out of it. In Bank of America: open the account → Download → choose CSV / spreadsheet, then pick that file below. I’ll tick every transaction that matches your books and flag anything that doesn’t. Nothing changes until you press Apply.

Pick the .csv you downloaded from your bank — not the PDF statement.

Export for Thomas

Builds his write-up format — Deposits, Withdrawals and Checks, with his account numbers, auto-numbered references, and clean self-explaining descriptions. Paste each file into the matching tab of his template.
